Since our last newsletter, we have a few new announcements from the council. Please read them below and let us know if you have any questions.

Successful Marriage Course

First is that another Marriage Course was successfully completed! Congratulations to all of the participants! The celebratory lunch after Sunday Service on December 16th was a wonderful time to share and be in each other’s company. A huge Thank You! must also go out to all of the volunteers. This experience would not be possible without the help of all of the cooks, baby sitters, and organizers behind the scenes.

For all those hopefuls looking to partake of the Marriage Course content, do not despair! The next round is being scheduled at this moment and is currently set to begin in March of this year.

Dr. Kone

Many of you may recall, that when Dr. Kone was first hired by the Belvedere Community, he agreed to a three-year term of service to our community. Because Rev. Kone’s first term was up in 2018, the council of 2017-2018 formed a committee to do a performance review for Rev Kone.

Based on feedback from the community and a 9-month process, the committee and Council of 2017-2018 decided to offer another three-year term to Rev Kone and he has graciously agreed to stay through September of 2021!

Thank you to all those who responded to the survey that was sent out to the community (almost a year ago) and we apologize for the delay in this announcement.

Prayer Support

On another note, the council has received some news. On the afternoon of January 20, one of our council members, our dear brother Francisco Rondon, had a minor stroke. Francisco has been released from Nyack Hospital and is now home for recovery. Please keep him and his family in your prayers that he may have a speedy recovery.

Finance

We want to offer special thanks to everyone for your regular tithing. As you know, we do not collect an offering by passing the basket at Sunday Service, so we hope everyone can make a sincere regular offering by either placing their donation in the box at the rear of the Belvedere hall, or you can also arrange automatic deposits and payment by credit card- information is on our website at belvederefamily.com/donations.

For those who are interested, we provide a quarterly financial report that may be accessed on the community page at any time at
belvederefamily.com/financial-report/.

Conclusion

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please email the BFC Council at council@belvederefamily.com. If you wish to remain anonymous, please specify so in your email. However, all concerns will be read and carefully discussed by the council. Thank you for your feedback and your support during this significant time.
