Council Corner:
News from 4/19/22 Council Meeting

This was a long time coming — the BFC Council held its recent April 2022 meeting IN PERSON at the White House (!!!). It was a wonderful change to see everyone face-to-face and have dinner and sharing together, in addition to our meeting. Pastor Justin cooked our entree – some fabulous tacos! And everyone else brought all sorts of great side dishes.

As always, we had a lot to discuss. The main points were the budget, overview of committee reports, and our excellent Pastor’s Update.

Pastor Justin covered all the latest BFC news, progress, victories and challenges. As you can see in the photo below, he also shared how our current BFC goals are connected to our National goals.

Next we discussed upcoming voting for the new Council. We had a whopping 71 nominations! Of those, 10 people accepted the nomination. You will all have the opportunity to vote for 4 of them between now and May 1st. It’s wonderful to see the spirit of volunteerism among so many of our BFC community.

Speaking of volunteerism, in the final part of our meeting we discussed having another “Volunteer Appreciation Day” soon. So keep a lookout for more details to be announced about that.

We encourage community members to observe Council meetings. Generally the Council holds its meetings on the third Tuesday of every month. Our next meeting will be held on Zoom on Tuesday May 17th, 2022, from 7:30 to 9:30pm. Our new Council-elect members will be joining us to observe this meeting. If you’d also like to observe, just let us know at least a week before the meeting, by sending an email to council@belvederefamily.com.
