The BFC Council held its annual retreat at East Garden recently, from Friday night 9/9 to Sunday 9/11. We all had a wonderful experience spending face to face time together (most of our meetings have been on zoom), getting to know one another better, and discussing our vision for BFC.

It was so special being at a beautiful place like East Garden (Tudor House) for our retreat. We started Friday night with icebreakers and games, and resumed Saturday morning with a full day of meetings, plus a wonderful 90 minute hike after lunch at the Irvington Loop.

One of the highlights was hearing Pastor Justin’s vision for BFC. We were all so inspired by the clarity of the new goals and core values he put forth.

Another one of our special sessions on Saturday was “brainstorming”. We talked all about different issues facing BFC and how we might be able to best address them.

Saturday concluded with our annual budget meeting, and Sunday morning we were led by our Council Chairperson Yuki Jones in some interesting exercises in Dynamic Governance.

We were treated to wonderful meals at the main house. Thank you East garden staff for taking such good care of us!

Our next Council meeting will be held on October 19th, from 7:30 to 9:30pm, via zoom. We encourage community members to observe Council meetings. If you’d like to observe, just let us know by sending an email to council@belvederefamily.com.
