The BFC Council held its January 2022 meeting via Zoom on Tuesday January 19th, from 7:30 to 9:30pm.

We had a wonderful 2 hour discussion about many topics. There are good things happening at BFC! Read on…

We started the meeting with a check in, sharing our New Year’s resolutions. Next we reviewed our committee reports, and received the Pastor’s Update from Pastor Justin. The update was very insightful, with progress being made in several areas of focus.

Some of the additional discussion points for this meeting were:

  • Finalizing the job description for our new Young Adult Activities Coordinator. The Council approved the job description and we’ll begin advertising for this position soon. The new coordinator will work alongside Pastor Justin to organize events and activities for our Young Adult community.
  • We continued our discussion on Member Care. Rev. Daryl Clarke prepared an excellent report on the progress and goals of this committee, which will eventually include home visits to BFC members, a Widow and Widower Association, and Seonghwa Committee. A zoom meeting will be scheduled soon for those interested in helping out.

  • Investing Pastor Justin prepared a detailed report on how we can invest BFC funds. An investment policy document was drafted, under the advice and guidance of finance experts Tim Watters and Marcus Karr.  We are looking forward to beginning soon, and putting our BFC funds to good use!

We encourage community members to observe Council meetings. Generally the Council holds its meetings on the third Tuesday of every month. Our next meeting will be held on February 15th, 2022, from 7:30 to 9:30. If you’d like to participate, just let us know at least a week before the meeting, by sending an email to council@belvederefamily.com.
